I wrote a few words lately regarding my perception of the word “fail”. And in the expression “fail fast,” I also have concerns about the “fast” part.
I have been creating products for over twenty-five years and I see that some ideas need time to mature. At first, they look like a good idea and then when execution starts, the results aren’t quite there. Should we throw away the original design?
In our current “fast” culture, it may.
I’m always conscious of the difference between the initial idea, the concept and the execution. Often, I observe that the implementation can be improved.
So my question is: are we discarding good ideas because we haven’t taken the time to polish the execution?
